Many people collect boxes in all sizes and shapes and in a variety of materials. whether jewelry boxes, keepsake boxes, valet boxes or just for the love of exotic woods in a unique form, the boxes i make are really different from all others "something new". I form laminate the box sides from thin layers of wood to the desired shape, using veneer remenants that would otherwise end up in the landfill. I therefore use wood very sparingly, and then only from sources I am sure are being managed sustainably. My box lids are sculpted and/or carved into the different designs and attached with wooden hinges of my own design. The box interiors are lined in suede and finnished in natural tung oil, then buffed to a high luster. prefferring that the natural color and beauty of the wood is available to see and feel. I have been producing fine woodworking since 1987 and have my work shown by many fine galleries throughout the U.S. "As the world continues to change and quicken, people will thirst for objects that are handmade of natural materials"
